One semester in Korea without a visa — how does it work?

My country has the 90-day agreement with Korea. Can I just fly in and do one 10-week semester without applying for anything?

Yes — this is a real and popular route, and it's the easiest way to start.

A university language semester is 10 weeks, which fits comfortably inside a 90-day visa-free stay. You still apply to the school and pay tuition normally; you just skip the visa application, the bank balance certificate and the embassy appointment.

What you still need: passport, application form, a photo, and your final diploma. That's it for most schools.

The catch: you can't extend a visa-free stay into a second semester from inside Korea reliably. If you already know you want 2+ semesters, apply for the D-4 from home and do it properly the first time.

Also note the visa-free agreement isn't the same for every country — check yours before booking flights, or ask us and we'll confirm it for your passport.

This is what I'm doing in the fall. Way less paperwork and I get to see if Seoul is for me before committing a year.
