Yonsei KLI vs Korea University KLC — which is better for speaking?

Tuition looks similar (around 1.8M won per term). What's actually different between them — class style, tests, dorms? I mainly want to be able to hold a real conversation, not just pass tests.

Both are strong, but they're built differently — here's the honest comparison our students report back.

Yonsei KLI is the most structured: heavy on grammar, textbooks and regular tests. If you like a clear syllabus and measurable progress, it fits. Note that Yonsei is stricter about repeating levels than most schools.

Korea University KLC sits in the middle — solid grammar base but more speaking practice built into class, and a very active student community on campus.

Money: Yonsei regular course 1,860,000 won per term, Korea University 1,800,000 won. Application fee is 120,000 won at both (non-refundable). Korea University is an official ALLO partner, so our service fee is waived; for Yonsei we create the application account for you.

For pure speaking, students who prioritise conversation often prefer Sogang's method — but tuition and dorm availability differ, so tell us your budget and semester and we'll lay out the real options side by side.

Did SKKU then switched to Yonsei. Yonsei is more textbook-heavy for sure. If you want to actually talk, do a language exchange on top — no school gives you enough speaking hours by itself.

How big are the classes? That matters more than the school for speaking I think.

Usually 10-15 students per class at both. Yonsei tends to run a bit larger in the popular beginner levels because of demand.
