My income is in crypto — will the bank statement still work?

What matters is the bank balance certificate, not where the money came from.

Officially, financial ability for a student visa is satisfied by a bank balance certificate. Schools sometimes ask for proof of income on top, and that's where crypto gets awkward.

The practical approach:
- Move the funds to a normal bank account and let them sit for at least 3 months before applying. A seasoned balance raises far fewer questions than a fresh deposit.
- If the school asks for income proof and you can't produce payslips, a sponsor is usually the cleanest path — a parent's account plus a family relationship certificate.
- Exchange statements are generally not accepted as income proof.
