got 9 ECTS as free electives. the thing that made it work was the syllabus with learning outcomes and the contact hours. the transcript alone wasn't enough for them

request it at the start of the term, not at the end. the office is much less busy

get pre-approval IN WRITING before you leave. i asked after i came back and got a shrug. a friend had an email from before and got 10 credits

this applies to every credit transfer question anywhere honestly

check for an existing bilateral agreement first. if your uni already has one with a korean uni, going there makes the whole thing routine instead of a special case

free electives was the route that worked for me too. my major wouldn't take it but electives were fine
