How long do you plan to study?

1 semester = 3 months (one 10-week term).

Many students start with 2-4 semesters, then extend if they like the program.

Planning 2+ semesters (6 months+)?
A student visa (D-4) is provided from school.

Tip: Applications are usually recommended 3–4 months before your start date.
Eligibility check

Required documents

To apply for a Korean language program, a few basic documents are required.

Valid passport
High school diploma (or equivalent)
Bank statement
We’ll review everything before submitting to the school.
Proof of funds

Why do you need a bank statement?

This is not a payment.
It’s a document for the visa review.

With a student visa, work is usually allowed only after about 6 months. Immigration checks that you can support yourself at the start.

Typical amount: $7,000–$10,000 USD.
The statement can be under your name or a family member’s name.
If using a family member’s account

Proof of relationship

If the bank statement is under a parent or family member’s name, immigration may require proof of your relationship.

This is a standard requirement for student visa review.

We’ll let you know exactly what document is needed, based on your situation.

How long does it take?

In most cases, plan for about 2–4 months from start to finish.

School review: 2–3 weeks Visa: 2–6 weeks

* If you're a complete beginner, skip the test and choose direct placement into Level1

* If the bank statement is under a family member’s name, proof of relationship may be required.

Korean language schools can submit only a limited number of applications each term, and programs may reach capacity before the official deadline. ALLO KOREA works with partner schools to help reserve a limited number of spots for applicants using our service.
